The best home workout for everyone!

If you are looking for the best in home training, you have found it here my friend. As a strength and conditioning specialist and personal trainer here in the Atlanta, Georgia area for over 10 years, I have used the following weight training methods to instruct people on the best ways to train anywhere and whenever. We like to refer to this as home training, but it really just means being able to train wherever we are!

The best workout at home!

The best at-home workouts involve bodyweight training. In today’s economy it is very common to hear people complain about prices and concerns about various expenses. This is something that is particularly common in the fitness industry because those who don’t see fitness as a priority often perceive it as a luxury more than anything. Maybe this is why we in America are the fattest country in the nation, but I digress. The point is, the best workouts don’t require a lot of equipment, if any. If spending is your excuse for NOT exercising, then that’s all you’ve got; an excuse! The value of a really great training program lies not in the amount of equipment, bells and whistles it has, but in the effectiveness and dynamics of the training itself.

Truly forceful exercise must involve manipulation and movement of our own body’s resistance. This is the most natural state of the human body, but many of us do not practice it. I am a big advocate of implementing training methods like calisthenics, plyometrics, and various other resisted body movements. You can perform push-ups, burpees, and dips in the comfort of your own living room if you need to. If you have a job that requires you to travel regularly, then this is another great workout tactic you can adopt so you don’t have to worry about whether or not you’ll be able to make it to the hotel gym.

Bodyweight exercises, such as calisthenics and plyometrics, keep the nervous system in shape. You maintain strength and stamina throughout your entire body in the joints, tendons, ligaments, and of course, muscles. By engaging in total-body movements that will systematically challenge you as a whole, you’ll get a much more impactful workout and save a lot of time in the process. It’s not about how long your workouts last, it’s about how much work you can do in the shortest time possible. This is the key to achieving fitness. To get the most out of it, you must increase your work capacity. I am a firm believer in this and my most successful clients have benefited the most for this very reason.
