York T101 treadmill review

The York T101 treadmill is a very popular treadmill in the UK. There are some reasons for this. One is that this machine is usually available at major UK stores at a considerable discount. The other is that the T101 is at the budget end of the York range, which is a well-respected manufacturer of fitness equipment around the world, so it will be an obvious choice for the budget-conscious looking to buy their first machine for run.

So what features does the York T101 have? First of all, the engine doesn’t have too much growl. It is only rated at 1.25 HP with a peak of 2.5 HP when needed. This is pretty low for a running machine and explains why the top speed of the machine is only 13 KPH, so really this machine is only suitable for light walking or running. Experienced racers will find the maximum speed limit. The maximum recommended weight for a user of this machine is 120KG, which is another limitation of the small motor.

The running deck is a reasonable size at 120cm x 40cm and while a larger person might find it tricky to use a running deck of this size, usually for fast walking speed, this is a perfectly good size. One of the main problems people have when exercising is trying to stay motivated. The York T101 has nine programs built into its computer to help you vary your exercise routine. These programs generally increase/decrease the speed of the machine so that you can safely go from a slow walk to a jog. A heart sensor is also built into the handlebars so you can monitor how well your heart is working. The T101 has a bottle holder, which seems like such a small thing and is incredibly missing from some machines.

So, in summary, the York T101 is a reasonable entry-level spec treadmill, but I’d suggest if you shop around, you’ll be able to get a treadmill with better specs, more features, and a better warranty for a few extra pounds. So I suggest taking a look at the budget end of the ProForm range. Although they may cost a bit more, the ProForm 3.6, for example, has more advanced features like a power tilt and a larger motor for higher top speed when you get more experienced.
