Think Tank Brainstorming: Case Study

Recently, our online Think Tank did a little brainstorming on an innovative new product, which had just hit the market. The device was a special cooling unit that one could wear over their heads like a hat, a combined face shield. It looked like something you might see in a wrestling match, only it was connected to a central cooling unit.

The inventors of this special system had been marketing it as a medical device, obviously that’s an excellent use for such a thing, they were still wondering what other markets might be available. So, we started brainstorming potential killer apps. A Think Tank member converted to this list after 14 minutes. It seems that as it went on, the potential applications got better and better. In fact, a couple of them were chosen by the group to accompany them and launch them into a new submarket. Below is the list, see what you think?

  1. “Brain cooling head cap” during neural stimulation in neuroscience while using eeg or fMRI machines: human or chimpanzee.
  2. Super Computer Cooling System on an MRI ship, building or trailer.
  3. Pre-phase cryogenic entry period, body cooling.
  4. Frost Bite training for “rescue teams” or “military survival training” in Alaska.
  5. Prevention of boiling of blood during the military application of “electronic attack”.
  6. Olympic Training Center Pulled Muscle Tool
  7. NASCAR Helmet Insert System – Needs modification, but might work.
  8. Deep sea dive recovery underwater tool.
  9. Backpack mounted airport firefighting rescue suit cooling system.
  10. Security device for space colonies or space exploration.
  11. Ship’s boiler room crew refrigeration unit.
  12. Truck Driver refrigeration unit to save energy in air conditioning.
  13. Army tank cooling unit for operators.
  14. Refrigeration of electronic equipment in UGVs.
  15. Psyche torture technical tool to cause despair and depression to break the will of enemy combatants.
  16. Helps calm users of excessive doses of methamphetamine.
  17. Club Med system for elite vacationers: cruise ships, 5-7 star resorts (Dubai).
  18. Calm Middle Eastern politicians before the political process.
  19. Burn Victim device for civilians, firefighters and military.

  24. Private Jet Electronics Cockpit Dash Cooling System for Ramp (Dash Lid).
  25. Envelope system for a fuel cell ceramic hydrogen conversion system.
  26. Post Boxing Match device to protect Rocky’s face for TV interviews.
  27. Cooling system for the high-tech living room xBox of the future with VR systems.
  28. Wrapping system to store donor organs for transport.
  29. VIP Box cooling system for fans: integrated or can be ordered for a fee on very hot days.
  30. Keep liquid rocket fuel tanks in small missiles cold for transport in the sandbox.
  31. Protection of biological weapons before their dispersal.
  32. Slowing down the decomposition process for forensic investigations for transport or temporarily on site.
  33. Blood Supply Temporary Storage System for Mobile Blood Donation Station Units
  34. Computer desk workstation component for cooling electronics.
  35. Charging station cooling system for multiple battery system cases.
  36. Enemy Infrared Deception Sensors (great app).
  37. Use it in pipelines to control fluid dynamics to slow or speed up the flow as needed.
  38. Use on pipes during the drilling process externally on sleeves or inside double-walled pipes.
  39. It causes the Bernoulli effect inside the exhaust jets (as a liner or mounted to the outside of the restriction pipe) to control directional thrust flow.
  40. The separation and precipitation process in chemical manufacturing, to wrap tanks at specific fluid levels, works in synchrony with sonar fluid level sensors.
  41. Astronaut spacesuit cooling system.
  42. Bus Driver Cap Cooling System.
  43. Slow and stop bleeding by clotting artificial blood in emergencies.
  44. Special alloy compound manufacturing joining processes in discrete engineering and manufacturing.
  45. Test complete products for climatic conditions during salt spray tests or simulate aircraft at altitude for wind tunnels.
  46. Pancake flange system with airflow tips to cause condensation and separate water from air by controlling cooling.
  47. Artificial hip pre-surgery to slow down the system, numb the region and prevent excessive blood loss.
  48. Pre-seat cooling for sporting events.
  49. Cooling for steering wheels, seat belts, door handles, parking brake in luxury cars.
  50. Propulsion steering device for UAV aircraft
  51. Bed cooling to prevent air conditioning from running in hot summers, like a thermal blanket, opposite.
  52. Protection against spontaneous combustion of inert gases passing through the pipes.
  53. Shielding a combatant from breathing bioweapons slows the process down to discharge.
  54. Protecting fighters and SWAT teams with too much gear in 130 ambient temperatures on land.
  55. Golf cart seat cooling system.

It’s really amazing how the human mind works or how well some people can see something and create apps instantly in such a short time. Just think if all our minds could do this, that’s what we’re thinking right now.
