The volume bug on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has now been fixed

In November of this year, Samsung and Google officially introduced the Galaxy Nexus. This is the new Android flagship. It was also set to compete directly with the iPhone 4S that was released last October. When the news spread that the new Android smartphone had been launched in the market, many flocked to stores to get their hands on the new Ice Cream Sandwich device. However, their excitement quickly turned to disappointment when they discovered the volume bug.

What was the volume problem about? The glitch lowers the phone’s volume without warning. This means you won’t be able to hear notifications every time an email, text message, or alert is received. If this wasn’t bad enough, the glitch also affected voice calls. Every time you were on a call, he would spontaneously love the volume. This would result in you not being able to hear the person on the other line. This made making voice calls on the new phone useless.

Not all phone owners were affected by this malfunction. It only affected users on a 900 MHz 2G frequency used by some network operators. For network operators that did not use this frequency, no errors were experienced.

Since weeks passed without a fix, independent developers developed an unofficial fix to the problem. However, their solution required users to go through a tedious process. It also required users to unlock the bootloader of the Samsung Galaxy nexus. Unfortunately, this would void the phone’s warranty. This is something no one in their right mind would choose not to do unless they really knew what they were doing.

Fortunately, Google recently released an OTA (over the air) update that promises to fix the volume bug on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. All users needed to do was check if their phones received the update. It did not require users to go through the complicated process of unlocking the phone’s bootloader.

According to the latest reports, the problem has now been eliminated by the latest update. The phone no longer lowered the volume during a call. This also meant that I would no longer miss text messages, alerts or notifications.

With the volume bug removed by the latest OTA update, users can now enjoy everything Ice Cream Sandwich has to offer on the new Android flagship, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
