The Rake Philosophy – 10 Minutes to Total Mind-Body-Spirit Connection!

the path of the rake

Many years ago, in the southern regions of a distant land, there lived a man named Hewko. A poor man by providential state but rich in Mind, Body and Spirit.

“Relationships,” he said, “are the true paths to wealth for the soul, peace of mind, and health for the body.”

Y,

“Relaxation is not for pillows as pillows are not for the relaxed”!

Many apparently wise and yet puzzling things he said. . . leaving the disciples who did not seek him more in wisdom than before. There is no calmer than that of a wild rabbit who is afraid to venture out of his burrow for fear of being eaten. No less confused and no more focused on their self-imposed task because they didn’t act.

But they searched for it anyway as all seekers must seek someone other than themselves to “show” them “the way”!

The path of ‘The Rake’ clears all the paths that are not clear due to the fallen leaves of time.

And you, dear reader. . . Do you also seek the spiritual healing that comes with the words of the Great Sage Hewko? Take heart: the secret lies in the essence and foundation of The Rake! “The Way of the Rake”, as Hewko would say, “clears all the paths that are unclear due to the fallen leaves of time”; and I will share with you in a very few words the philosophy of The Rake and how you can apply it today without further delay of peace for the mind, depth for the soul and life for the body.

“Just as the forest path is darkened by the leaves that fall there… so our minds are unclear because of the task that falls on our minds.” Too much technology, too many business opportunities, too many bills to pay, and too many places to be and things to do. We are overwhelmed, our minds are cluttered, we don’t exercise, we don’t sleep. . . we know what we should do but we don’t do it!

Meditation is a straw that eludes the grasp; yoga is an exercise of mind and body that is not always satisfying; crystals are discussed, put on shelves and forgotten; and when we feel sluggish, conventional medicine offers no cure, we look to “holistic” and/or “alternative” medicines only to find more “alternatives” to “alternatives”! Hewko would not deny all of the above as potential sources of healing from the mind, body and spirit… but you have to first develop the discipline of The Rake!

The Mind Body Spirit connection is connected to the Earth. . .

All religions teach the importance of the Earth Spirit connection. The Bible says in the Genesis creation story, “With toil and toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life.” The man continually shirks his duty as “husband” to the land and wonders why he feels so lethargic. The sowing and harvesting of bygone years is more and more removed from the life of modern man. Hewko says, “Put your hand in the dirt in your own garden and grow something!”

The Way of the Rake is nothing more than the rake you can buy at your local hardware store. . . take the rake in hand and touch the Earth! Mind, Body and Spirit come together in that one action and you are centered, balanced and complete. The rake is literally but only part of it. Cultivate the land, plant the seed and help it grow! The law of sowing and reaping has always been taught since the beginning of time through the planting of seeds and is the foundation of all business and romance.

If you can’t find your way through religion. . . rake! If you can’t calm the mind. . . rake! If you are overwhelmed with bills, business and the worries of this world. . . rake!

Disconnect from the television and the computer, go out and touch the Earth. Modern man today allocates these basic life energies to other men who regard these God-given privileges as nothing more than a 9 to 5 JOB. How can we be sure that our sufferings of mind, body, and spiritual are nothing more than self-imposed? when we go for months and, for some, years without rolling in the hay?

The man of religious conviction who studies the Bible and yet avoids his “curse” cannot expect God to answer his prayers any more than he can expect tomatoes to grow where he has not prepared the soil. Back to earth should be our motto. Homegrown should be the description given to the vegetables on our table. And the law of sowing and reaping must be the first law written on our hearts. . . Mind, Body and Spirit begins where the salad grows.

Hewko’s final words

“Clear the path of your mind with The Rake! Touch the Earth and the Earth will touch you. When We Rake we use the Mind, we use the Body and we find our full Spirit.”
