The Power of Mentoring for Wealth Creation and Personal Success

He who walks with wise men will be wise; but the companion of fools will be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20.

A sure way to wealth and personal success is by associating with the wise, wealthy, and successful people around you. When you have the rich and successful as your mentor, you have at your disposal the tried and tested success formula of such successful men and women. What’s more, you are privileged with a hand to help you up when you slip, a listening ear to share your troubles, a shoulder to lean on, and a compass to point the way forward.

In this age where information technology has reduced the world to a global village, finding a mentor is an easy and attractive route to wealth and success. You can harness the power of information technology (Internet and mobile phone) to keep in touch with your mentors, wherever they are. Books, audios, and videos offer effective means for you to learn from your mentors.

In some traditional societies, mentoring is the traditional route to wealth and success. Young men and women who want to create wealth in business, commerce, or the professions usually join the mentors (masters and mistresses) they serve, while learning the business from said mentors. At the end of the apprenticeship, they set off to establish their own businesses, with the moral and financial support of their mentors.

If you seriously want to be rich and successful, find yourself a mentor in your chosen field. Many great men and women once sat at the feet of mentors to receive life-changing instructions and advice. Look for outstanding people in your area of interest and ask to be advised by them. This is a sure way to quickly learn and multiply your experience, increase your confidence and reach your goals in record time.

The wise will hear and increase knowledge; and the man of understanding will reach the wise advice. Proverbs 1:5.

When you find a mentor, treat them with respect. Successful people value their time. Don’t waste your mentor’s time on frivolous topics. Contact only when absolutely necessary. Never be a financial burden to your mentor, or a nuisance in any way. Instead, find out what your mentor appreciates and occasionally surprise them with appropriate quality gifts. Always abide by the laws of guardianship. Act maturely and avoid frivolities.

Many legitimately rich and successful people are quite accommodating and eager to share their success stories and secrets with genuinely interested interests. So, don’t be afraid to reach out and politely ask successful people for guidance and support. See you at the top.

Stay smart, rich and wise!
