Roulette System: Roulette Dealer’s Confession About Dealer’s Signature

Roulette system: confession of the roulette dealer about the dealer’s signature

This article will show you how you can use the dealer’s signature to beat roulette.

Not many people know this, but it is absolutely critical.

“I don’t think so! Impossible.”

Those are some of the comments I hear when I tell people that dealers can make all the difference in the outcome of a spin. “BS! It’s random!”

I disagree. Since my book “101 Tips for Winning at Roulette” was recently published, this single topic has attracted more interest than any other. Before I started playing roulette seriously about twelve years ago, I would have agreed.

The wheel spins one way, the ball the other. The slightest variation in ball launch speed or location can send the next spin to a very different part of the wheel. But I am beyond convinced now: I know that many dealers, though by no means all, can influence the outcome.

Some experienced dealers can influence the outcome by predicting the landing on the neighbor bet of the previous bet.

Even the best-intentioned dealers can be wrong. Likewise, they may fear being reprimanded by the Pit Boss or higher if they go too far to help them.

So what are we talking about? Strictly, a neighbor bet backs five numbers next to each other on the wheel, for example: 15, 34, 22, 5 and 17. In the UK, where call bets are common, the dealer places such bets on the race track. This is an oval shaped ring marked on the green mat. For example, a bet might be called “22 and the neighbors for five.” This would mean that the player wanted five pounds for each of these five numbers. In Las Vegas, the Mirage has a race track now at their $25 table minimum. This table has the single zero and if the zero falls, the outside bets lose only half. This is a great offer and reflects casinos in the UK and much of Europe.

Even if there is no race track, you can place the five tiles yourself on the board, backing them up with any sum subject to the table minimum. This is an ideal bet if the dealer is entranced and turns to these numbers as a signature spin. It’s an excellent bet if the dealer is trying to help you by repeating. The winning bet if 22 matches one dollar on each of the five numbers is: Bet x 35 minus 4 losing chips = +31.

Even the world’s worst spinner recurs as a random event anyway, so after 22 has hit once as a winner, you should always add to your bet for the next spin. If the dealer is friendly and seems willing to help and/or take your advice, make it clear that you’re expecting a repeater (it doesn’t get any better!). Personally, I would also place something on the two numbers on either side.

I used the word strictly before to define the bet as on five numbers. A dealer who did well for me and was tipped generously along the way told me he wanted a seven or eight number runway. Some dealers call it signing him. Anyway, I took his advice, covered seven adjacent numbers and until the Pit Boss pulled him out after I started betting $25 on each of the numbers (having raised from just $2), this genius landed as precisely as a airplane on autopilot.

In France, where dealers are greedy for tips, the older bosses are astonishingly precise, turning slowly to raise their modest salaries. At America’s best casinos, I’ve found that although tipping is prohibited and therefore you can’t buy dealer loyalty, many of the older or more experienced dealers spin the neighbors. In some cases this is due to characteristic spinning, but some pride themselves on precision to alleviate the boredom of spinning for hours every day.

I spoke to a smart guy in his thirties who told me he loved to predict where the next spin would land. He failed to deliver a neighbor bet by intent. His signature spin was 25% too long, so the ball landed predictably but nowhere near the previous number. That’s just as useful, and in fact better because to inspectors and pit bosses, it’s less obvious from the number boards that the dealer is spinning on a signature than if the last six numbers had been 34, 17, 22, 22, 5 and 34.

One of the reasons most players don’t believe in the concept of neighbor or exclusive bets is ignorance! Your idea of five nearby numbers is 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11. These are scattered around the wheel and are not neighbors at all. Reading a number board and interpreting what is happening is critical. It means knowing where the numbers are on the wheel. From this it can spot the repeats and near repeats, but will gradually select the darker traces where the ball will land on a different but predictable part of the wheel each time.

Las Vegas is full of talented dealers who can help. There is more to this than randomly selecting the first table and the dealer you see.

Do not forget this.
