Importance of breakfast: do we need to have breakfast?

Conventional wisdom (CV) can tell you the need to eat breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day. As long as breakfast is skipped, a person’s metabolism will slow down, they will have low energy, they will not think clearly, they will starve, and they will end up binging later. Many of these beliefs have been shown not to be necessarily legitimate, with the exception of binge eating. A person can overindulge if he wishes even though he is not hungry.

There were quite a few mornings where I woke up not at all hungry, but felt like I needed to have a major breakfast because CV told me to. Now, I absolutely would not send a youngster to school without eating anything. However, if you’re an adult and managing unwanted weight like everyone else, you can. Not having breakfast as well as any other meal is an excellent option to reduce calories during the day without destructive consequences for health.

In general, if I had to choose between starting the day with a couple of toasts and a glass of fruit juice or not eating until lunch, I would choose not to eat. You’d be way ahead by avoiding eating all the harmful sugars included in your toast and orange juice.

I think it’s a good idea to skip breakfast if your goal is weight loss. Not really eating until lunchtime is a fantastic way to decrease the number of calories you consume in a day. Avoiding eating for fourteen to fifteen hours by skipping the first meal of the day is a technique that involves intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting can have numerous benefits for overall health, including: increased energy, better thinking, increased fat burning, more effective tissue repair, and possibly a longer life.

It’s totally fine to have breakfast if you want to, however don’t think that skipping breakfast isn’t really healthy. In fact, eliminating any meal of the day can be a healthy alternative to lose weight.

Don’t let conventional wisdom explain the importance of breakfast to you. It is not necessarily the most important meal of the day.
