Glamorous neighborhoods to visit in Los Angeles

This name, evocative of the wildest dreams, of the great films of the 20th century, of American stars, is that of a neighborhood that is a bit disappointing for tourists: the stars have left the area and now it is quite infamous, frequented by prostitutes. , drug traffickers and a fauna that is not good at rubbing the dark. Despite all this, the Hollywood area is of course a must see, especially Hollywood Blvd, where the Walk of Fame star with all the biggest stars (there are over 2500), burned to the ground. You will also have the opportunity to attend the opening of a star (about 1 per year). One of the mythical symbols of Los Angeles is the Hollywood sign.

Sunset Blvd or Sunset Trip, with giant billboards, concentrates the largest number of nightclubs, music clubs and other places in LA. If you want to get a taste of LA nightlife, it’s one of the places to remember.

Melrose Avenue is a concentration of restaurants, cafes, and shops. This boulevard is one of the few places in Los Angeles where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll on vacation. The West Hollywood district concentrates the gay community of Los Angeles.

Beverly Hills is a district that concentrates the most expensive houses in the world, not necessarily the best taste but it is a safe neighborhood with huge and very luxurious buildings. The heart of Beverly Hills is found around Rodeo Drive, a street lined with stores from the world’s biggest brands.

Some stars still live in Beverly Hills, but many have fled to the Los Angeles hills to find quiet and avoid curious tourists.

Bel Air and Pacific Palisades are located in the hills of Los Angeles, a little away from the crowds and are the true “landmark” of the stars.

Santa Monica and Venice are located along the sea south of Beverly Hills. Santa Monica is now a hot spot, bustling at night with many bars and restaurants lining Third Street Promenade, a busy pedestrian street. You will also see the many shops, cinemas and street entertainers.

On Wednesday and Saturday mornings there is a market. On the Santa Monica Pier, there’s a rather “old fashioned” amusement park, Pacific Park, where you can still indulge in some oceanfront bumper car lapses in sunny California… You can also be dancing every day. Thursday evenings in summer outdoors free of charge.

Venice is another must-see along with Santa Monica to the south. It is a unique place where you will better understand what the “cult of the body” is in California. Here you will see bodybuilders and beautiful skaters and bikinis from California. As you walk by the sea, on the Ocean Front Walk, you’ll also find “rare specimens” of the wilder eccentricity some are accustomed to in Venice. Although it is nothing like the atmosphere of Venice, the neighborhood is a charming little individual place.

Malibu is another landmark of the stars… but there is no “star map” for sale, you don’t know who lives where so easily! Malibu homes line the city’s most beautiful beaches (although far less extensive than Venice or Santa Monica) and the least frequented.

Malibu is somewhat sheltered from the big city atmosphere of Los Angeles and its eccentricity is worth the trip both for these beautiful dream houses and for the nice swim. Beware of strong currents in the sea. Some of the beaches are more popular with surfers like Surf rider Beach and Westward Beach.
