Crunch Time – Michelle Bridges

Wow, Michelle, or Mish as she’s affectionately known, is tough. She is also very inspiring. Although we see her as if she is always in shape, there is a lot of work on that. She is not always sitting around doing nothing. Regular training, always watching what you eat and a healthy mental attitude contribute.

I feel like the way Australians view lifestyle has changed dramatically since we were young. Not long ago I was telling my daughter that in the 80s no man wore a shirt to the beach and sometimes to the stores. She was upset, however, there were very few overweight people back then.

We all got up early and did our homework. All the kids were playing outside and possibly only watching one show a day. Our school days included physical exercise to which all the children joined. After school we played outside by bike or running but always on the move. Weekends were adventures and a large group would go out and do something. We only ate because our parents called us to refuel before doing it again.

Fast forward to the 2010s and not only children, but also adults are grazing all day and never leaving the house. As a nation, we are getting bigger and less active. We will die younger than ever because of our lifestyle, which is entirely our fault.

Michelle teaches us with her no-nonsense approach that we must take responsibility. Everything from calorie counts to exercise programs is scaled down to allow even beginners to pick up the book and just get started. As a community we must start anew as our parents will outlive an entire generation if we do not act.

I love watching weight loss shows as they are so inspiring. If someone is 50 kilograms overweight can find the motivation, so can I. This is where Crunch Time comes in.

We are taught to look at where we came from, why we have gained weight, and what we need to change. Fixing underlying problems means that our mental renewal gives us the strength to move on. I love food, exercise journals, and case studies to make it all real.

There are also some examples of food and exercise mistakes we all make thinking we’re making healthy choices, when sometimes we’re making it worse.

Michelle aims to help all of us lose a lot of weight as quickly as possible to start anew. Through the twelve week program that anyone can follow so we can all achieve intense and dramatic results if we really want it. I’m lovin ‘it.
