Make money online: can it really be done?

A couple of years ago, I had this very question going round and round in my head…

I had read countless stories of people making millions online without ever having any prior experience running a web-based business.

I’ve heard people tell how they’ve made a fortune online selling e-books, seminars, or courses.

He had also heard about how easy it was to earn money this way, so easy in fact, anyone could do it.

Being the born skeptic that I am, I wasn’t totally convinced by what I had read or heard, so I decided to dig a little deeper and see if it really was a viable business idea. Could the average person on the street capitalize on it and actually have a chance to make money online?

After all, he knew that if he was going to do this, he would be taking a huge risk, spending a lot of time and a fair amount of money on it.

So I started researching and found some names that came up regularly, names like Robert Kiyosaki, mark anastasi, Derek Halpern Y Andrew Reynolds to name a few.

These guys are making millions from internet businesses they set up with very little knowledge or investment and for a price they will show you how they do it.

Now while these guys are at the top of the food chain and making untold amounts of money, when I looked at the testimonials on their web pages and researched the people they had taught, I found many of the people who had learned by Mr Big’s. They have amassed small fortunes.

What’s more, further investigation showed that there are literally millions of people in all corners of the world making money online, earning anywhere from $1000 a month and up from their own web-based businesses.

So I guess the short answer to the question is a resounding YES.

We now know that there is money to be made online, but what if you have no idea what you are doing when it comes to computers or the Internet? All these guys must be IT geeks, right?

Well, surprisingly not at all…

While some of the people who make money this way have a good understanding of computers, most had very little experience with that side of things before they started and some don’t yet, they just outsource those jobs to others who then they do. for them.

You see, one of the things I learned when I was researching this is that in order to make a decent regular income from your own online business, you really don’t need any IT experience or computer skills to be successful, just time. , determination and willingness to learn the basic skills necessary to make it work.

That is not to say that if you have all of the above, you will succeed, in fact, for every person who does, there are thousands who fall by the wayside.

People who start out with great optimism and purpose can soon become disillusioned by the amount of work they have to do initially to make small strides.

Why do they give up?

What reason could there be for them to put aside their dreams?

I found that there were a number of reasons why all but the most motivated people gave up, but most quit for one of three main reasons…

1. Money

When the uninitiated decide to venture into Internet marketing, they seem to think that since everything is online, the cost will be little or nothing.

This of course is wrong. Even though you’re working primarily online, usually from your spare room, it’s still a business, and no business can run without overhead.

Assuming they already have a computer, expenses will continue to rise…

Domain names, web hosting, advertising, building customer lists, products to sell (if you don’t develop your own) to name just a few that you will encounter initially.

Of course, some of these can be done for free or ‘cheap’, but that usually comes at the expense of the time it will take before they see a regular income, and some people just don’t have the patience to wait.

Which brings us to the second reason…

2. time

The reason many of us decide to give internet marketing a try is because we have been seduced by stories of people making thousands in the first few months after starting.

While this can and does happen, it is the exception rather than the rule, when I was researching how long it took some of the biggest names to make money, I was shocked at what I discovered…

Chris Farrell (Online Millionaire) it was one of the fastest to start seeing returns after just six months.

Derek Halpern (Online Millionaire) He built his business for twelve months before settling on a product to sell.

Steven Essa (Online Millionaire) it took eight months before I started seeing returns.

The world of internet marketing is full of successful people who spent a lot of time trying before seeing any return on their investment.

The moral of the story?

Don’t quit your day job just yet, but don’t quit your dream just because it’s taking longer than you expected.

3. Commitment

Many people who get into internet marketing are under the illusion that they can be successful by just working a couple of hours a day…

While this may be true for established internet marketers, it is certainly not the case for someone just starting out, in fact, you need to be ready to put in the (long) hours it will take just to put everything in place.

If you already have a full-time job, this will mean giving up your evenings and weekends and perhaps sacrificing time with family and friends, as well as missing out on hobbies and interests (at least for a while).

Once you’ve got everything set up, you’ll be faced with more hours trying to build your customer list, keep your websites up to date, write blogs, market your products, develop new products, etc. etcetera etcetera.

Believe me when I say that there is a lot of time and work that you will have to put in before you can reap the rewards of your labor.

In conclusion.

A comfortable income can be made online, however, it is not for everyone.

For it to work, you’ll need a certain kind of resolve and a strong belief in what you’re doing…

You will need the support of those closest to you and the right mindset to overcome the challenges you will face.

When you look at what’s involved and consider the sacrifices you’ll have to make along the way along with all the hassles and frustrations of finding the right help, advice and information, it’s not hard to understand why so many people give up. their dreams and go back to what they were doing before they had this crazy idea.

Having said that, if you go in with your eyes wide open and are aware of the obstacles you will need to overcome along the way and if you understand that it is a marathon rather than a sprint, then your chances of making money online successfully will be great. improved.
