The history of the pocket watch

Pocket watches have been around since the 16th century. The early model had a more boxy design and somewhat larger than current versions. The quality and craftsmanship were further refined during this era as they began to be produced on an industrial scale. The introduction of the crown winder was also introduced in this period.

At the beginning of the 20th century, things changed for watchmakers, certificates were issued for those who created the best pocket watch for design and precision. Unfortunately, we began to see their popularity fading rapidly as wristwatches became more and more popular.
