Previous Harry Potter films have broken many sales and marketing records. The creators of the films made millions of dollars through their merchandising. After a bit of a lull, the marketing for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is back with a bang! Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth part of the Harry Potter series, which is now soon to be sweeping theaters around the world.

It is a highly anticipated film, and now that it is only a few days away from its release, its marketing has increased even more. Since the film’s release was pushed back from November 2008 to July 2009, it is expected to sell even higher as fans are now desperate to get their hands on the film. Different marketing strategies have been used for the promotion of this upcoming movie. A video game soundtrack has also been released for the film.

EA games have created a game that will be released soon. It’s a new adventure for Hogwarts students. Due to the delay in its release, Half Blood Prince had the advantage of getting additional time for such games to be released and helping their promotion. Players will be able to experience all forms of magic from the books and movies in this video game. As they progress, players will have to take lessons to learn Harry’s abilities. Therefore, this game has also spiced up the excitement of the movie.

On April 10, an English version of the upcoming new Harry Potter movie premiered online. On May 8, the CW Channel showed a 30-second television spot, which focused on the romantic side of the film. So far, 11 TV ads have been launched over the Internet and most of them have been broadcast throughout the United States.

The first clip from the film was released via The Ellen DeGeneres Show official website on May 20 and shows Ron in love. Another clip from the film was released on May 31, 2009 at the MTV Awards, which showed Dumbledore visiting Tom Riddle’s orphanage. Also recently, a short clip featuring Wizard Weases, the Weasley twins’ shop, was released on June 22. Teaser trailers have also been released again and again to whet the appetite of fans.

Apart from these, t-shirts, book covers, stationery, balls, mugs, shopping bags, etc. have been made. with images of Harry and others for the promotion. The marketing department has really peaked on people’s excitement, enthusiasm, and anticipation for the soon-to-be-released movie using different strategies. His efforts turn out to be fruitful or useless, soon to be known with the release of the Half-Blood Prince.
